How to prevent breaking the lockpick in Skyrim?

If the lockpick is in the wrong place,
and you turn the lock too far, the pick will break.

But in the TV game, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim does give you an audio clue before that happens.

Though, even if you just test the lockpick a little bit,
without going far enough to break it,
the pick will break after a certain number of failures to open the lock.

Also high-level locks have a much smaller range of space that the pick must be in, in order for the pick to open.

So lockpicks do break, but much less often than they did in the previous game Oblivion.

And if you're an expert and good at playing the minigames,
you can never break a lockpick and always prevent breaking any picks.
